THE MUSTARD SEED DIARIES

The Mustard Seed Diaries: A blog about having Faith in Jesus Christ.
Lord Jesus Christ, You told Your Disciples: “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”Matthew 17:20 NIV. Though You uttered these words some 2000 plus years ago, I feel they are still relevant today and that they are speaking directly to me; and so Lord, I am taking the leap of Faith, I am starting this blog. Yet not my will but Yours be done O Lord.
Hi, my name is Kojo Osei Blavo but some of you know me as Papa, don’t worry, we’ll get back to that name later. I am the son of Harry Osei Blavo and Sophia Bankah. I have a beautiful wife named Diane and she is truly what the Bible means by a helpmeet. I have seven siblings, well, the truth is some are cousins, etc. but we all grew up together so I consider them all as my siblings in a very African family kind of way.
Some of you went to school with me, Ridge Church School, Ecole de la Place, Budé or Budos, can’t remember the name of that junior high school in Geneva, North Ridge Lyceum, Achimota Secondary School, now Achimota Senior High School, Alliance Francaise, Sorbonne University, American University in Paris, Université Michel Montaigne Bordeaux IV, Université de Montesquieu Bordeaux III, or even Ghana Institute of Languages… whew 😅 that’s a whole bunch of schools for only one person, I know!
Some of you also worked with me, don’t worry, I’m not going to run you through another long list but, yeah, you all know me one way or the other though I’m wondering if you know me or even what particular memory comes to mind when you think about me. Maybe you can let me know in the comment section if you just popped in to read this blog and you feel like getting interactive. I can’t lie, even if I get one engagement, I would count it as pure joy because I don’t know if anyone has the time to read anymore let alone read the musings of an old acquaintance you haven’t seen active on social media in ages.
Anyway, I digress, let me get back to the subject at hand, concerning knowing me, let me return to the name “Papa”, how many of you know that name was given to me after my Great Grand Father, “Papa Osofo Osei” also known as Reverend B. D. Osei who was a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yeah, you didn’t know that did you? So I guess family members were right when they always said I had certain predispositions anytime I would say a prayer before a meal or before a trip.
Yes, I was predisposed to becoming a servant of the Lord since apart from Papa Osofo Osei, my own dear Uncle Jimmy who has gone to be with the Lord, God rest his soul, was a Pastor and also my dearest Aunt Gertrude a.k.a. Aunty Nana is also a powerful Lady-Pastor.
Predispositions that I fled for years like that well-known Prophet Jonah, I pretended I wasn’t hearing Jesus’ call and I went about living life as I pleased till just like that same Prophet Jonah, I got swallowed up in the belly of a fish 🐋 Except for me, it’s only metaphorically speaking, of course 😂
I went through some of my best and most reckless years when I was in France 🇫🇷 but they were also some of my worst and most difficult years. All that time, God was with me and led me out of that land back to Ghana to redeem me, to humble me, and to remove the scales from my eyes. 👀
Now I feel our relationship has come full circle ⭕️ and I’m finally ready to answer His call. Well, that’s not entirely true, I still have a lot of doubts and I feel I’m not ready to serve Him. But that was when I heard Him say “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”Matthew 17:20 NIV.
So here I am trying to muster up enough Faith, as small as a mustard seed. I am answering Yes Lord, I will serve by starting this blog. I don’t know who needs to read this blog. I don’t know who the Lord is asking to muster up Faith as small as a mustard seed but whoever you are, I believe the Lord will guide you to this blog, and if you are here reading this, know that you are not alone and that, Jesus Christ is always with you and that, all He is asking you to do is to take the first step for Him to reveal His wondrous power to you and that, one day when you look back on the journey you are just about to embark on, you will see that mountains moved from here to there when you told them to!
So will you also take the leap of faith? All it takes is that first step in a thousand-step journey to set the ball rolling. If you haven’t given your life to Christ already, a first step would be saying the following prayer: “Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.” If you have just said this prayer, the next steps I would suggest are to join a Bible believing church and to read your bible regularly. If you have already given your life to Christ, I suggest renewing your faith in Christ by reading your Bible or, if you don’t know where to start in the Bible, I suggest finding a theme specific Bible plan in the YouVersion Bible app. Another thing you could do, is to read the book “Purpose Driven Life” by the Author Rick Warren to discover your purpose and why you are here on this earth. Finally, I would suggest embarking on this faith journey with me, through this blog. You can subscribe to the blog so you are the first to be notified anytime we make a post.
May the Peace of the Lord be with you and see you next Sunday. 🙏🏽
